Our father, has joined his wife, Evelyn, of 56 years after being apart for 8. He passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on March 11th, 2020 at the age of 92. Born in Dalhousie on January 27, 1928, son of the late Albert Thompson, the late Helen Thompson and predeceased by his younger brother, Harold Thompson.
He worked for NBIP Paper Mill for 33 years and was a Paper Maker until retirement. He also was a Montreal Canadian’s Fan. An avid traveller, Lloyd loved his winter trips to Florida with Evelyn, their cross-country Canada trip in 1996, and visits to Ottawa and Halifax to visit his daughters. Lloyd loved biking, walking, and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his son, Peter Thompson of Point La Nim; his daughter Pamela (Mike) Dougherty of Ottawa; his daughter Nancy (Gus) Webb of Halifax; and his grandchildren, Kelsey Webb and Jaden Webb of Halifax.
Funeral Service will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home, 421 Victoria St., Dalhousie, on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home beforehand at 1:00 pm.
Donations to the Restigouche County SPCA or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
