Jean Claude was born on April 17, 1940 in St. François d’Assise, QC to the late Leon Roy and the late Ernestine Guitard.
Jean Claude served his country for 44 years in the Canadian Military as a Sargeant in the Artillery for 28 years and as a Captain with the Air Cadets for 16 years. Jean Claude was involved for many years with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 holding many different Executive positions. Jean Claude enjoyed doing projects with his children whenever he visited them. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and cherished his two grandchildren.
Besides his wife Janice, he is survived by his children Patrick and Monique (Jonathan) Penney his grandchildren Sarah and Katelyn Penney, his siblings Patricia, Clarise (Jules), Paul Emile (Monique) , Raymond (Roberta), Jeanne (Greg), Claudine (Ralph), Roseline, Noella (Stephen), Yvon (Paulette), Linda (Domenic). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers André, Edouard and Michel
A Funeral Mass for Jean Claude will be held at St. John Baptist Church in Dalhousie on Monday, September 23 at 2:00 pm
