Alice Katagiri Agin was born Alice Fumiko Katagiri in Los Angeles, California on April 10, 1947, the second daughter of George and Matsuyo Katagiri. She attended Los Angeles High School where she met her future husband, Larry Agin. She earned her BA at USC and her PhD at UCLA in Psychology.
Alice and Larry Agin were married on September 14, 1969. On bicentennial weekend in 1976, they moved into a new home in Westchester, California where they have lived ever since. Alice worked for 10 years at Hughes Aircraft as a human factors engineer. Their son, Edward, was born on January 21, 1994 and has been their greatest joy.
Alice was known for her sweet and gracious manner, always upbeat and positive. She truly was brave and loyal. Besides her devotion to her dear family and friends, she had many personal passions, including food (both dining and cooking), dinosaurs, harp music (listening and playing), carousels, pandas, reading, gems and jewelry, stuffed animals, and flowers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her but most of all by her family who loved her deeply.
