Michael J. Bosma, 84, of Culpeper, VA passed away May 22, 2021 at UVA Hospital, Charlottesville, VA. Mike was born June 24, 1936 in New Jersey; was a member of Boys Town Class of ‘54: served his country in the US Navy on the U.S. Macon; retired from the U.S. government as a maintenance mechanic at Fort Belvoir and Warrenton Training Center. He was a member of the Precious Blood Catholic Church Choir, Knights of Columbus; the Piedmont Chorale Society and loved motorcycles, fire trucks and antique cars.
Surviving Mike is his caregiver, Maggie Johnston and her family; special friends, Jerry Ball and Bobbie Terry and a childhood friend, Ed Wenzel.
Funeral services will be held in Precious Blood Catholic Church, Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be James Dean, Sr., James Dean, Jr., Greg Martin, Howard “Speedy” Green, Ray Smoot, Frank “Butch” Johnston, and Shawn Lucas. Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery, Chandler Street, with military honors provided by the V. F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church, Boys Town or to the Knights of Columbus.
