Community on October 4, 2023. She was born in The Plains, VA on April 22, 1939 to Franklin
Miller and Gladys Griffin Miller. She was the younger sister of four brothers. She was never
married.
Mary was a teacher in several districts in Virginia and ended her school career as a counselor in
Cumberland County. Additionally, she taught at Bluefield College (now Bluefield University).
Mary was a devout Christian and biblical scholar who frequently taught others about the bible.
She was an active member at The Culpeper, who served several terms as President of The
Resident Council. She enjoyed creating including crochet and painting. She had a great love of
family which included several generations of nieces and nephews.
Mary is survived by nephews William Miller (Jeannie) of Orleans, VA; Greg Miller (Karen) of
Warrenton, VA; Ann Gwynn (Kenneth) of Colonial Beach, VA; and Ronald Miller. She also had
many great nieces and nephews: Steven Miller (Elizabeth), Robert Miller (Erin), Jennifer
Harrigfeld (Jeff), Amanda Osburn (Brooks), Andrew Miller, David Gwynn (Erin), and Erin Gwynn.
She also had a great number of great-great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents and four brothers: John Franklin Miller, Daniel Banks Miller,
William Townsend Miller, and H. Leroy Miller.
Visitation will be on October 11 from 4 - 6 PM at Clore-English Funeral Home at 11190 James
Monroe Highway Culpeper, VA 22701.
A Graveside Service will be held on October 12 at 1:00 PM at Warrenton Cemetery 110 West
Lee Street in Warrenton, VA 20186.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Culpeper at a future date.
