Kenneth Pierce Hitchings, 66, died Sunday, January 23rd, 2022. He was born May 1955 to Selwyn C. Hitchings and Dorothy P. Hitchings. He is survived by his sister Karen Hitchings Armstrong of Staunton VA., children Michael Hitchings, Ashley Gough, Courtney Hitchings, and Grandchildren. From an early age Ken had a passion for two things: humor and comics.
Throughout this life Ken enjoyed jokes and even clowning as Keno, an official member of the Clowns of America. As a pannapictagraphist (comic book collector), Ken maintained a vast collection of comic series with appreciation for story lines and character development. In his later years Ken would share his love of comics with his children, enjoying trips to view leading blockbuster movies and delving into the details of the movie and discussing missing themes or anticipation of future movies against the actual comic series. Ken shared a long history of athletics, especially basketball, a pastime he shared with his father S.C. In college Ken was a member of an exhibition basketball team allowing his athleticism and love of playing basketball to shine through.
The family will receive friends Sunday February 13th from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service starting at 3:00 p.m. in the Clore-English Funeral Home Chapel, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA . Burial will take place Monday, February 14th, 12:00 noon in Thornrose Cemetery, 1041 West Beverley Street, Staunton, VA .
