Edward Mark Virag, age 54, passed away in Culpeper, Virginia on July 21, 2023. He was a loving father to Margaret Elizabeth and Ryan Edward and a wonderful partner to his wife Sharon. Edward will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Born on December 9, 1968, Edward was a twin to his late brother Dean. He also had two additional brothers, Peter and Tommy and was the son of Margaret and John Virag, who all pre-deceased him. Although Edward experienced the loss of his loved ones, his spirit remained resilient and hopeful, always finding comfort in the love and support of his close-knit family.
Retired at the time of his death, Edward had a successful career as a certified public accountant. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic, he gained the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Outside of work, Edward had a deep love for sports, especially golf. He found solace on the golf course, where he could immerse himself in the tranquility of nature, while he embraced the challenge of the game. His passion for golf was matched by his love for cooking and barbequing. Edward delighted in using his culinary skills to bring joy to others. His table was always a place of warmth, laughter, and delicious meals shared with family and friends. In addition to these passions, Edward was also an avid fan of the rock bands Rush and Pink Floyd. Their music provided him with inspiration and joy.
Most recently, Edward aspired to create a mini-farm in his beloved home state of Virginia. This project reflected his deep connection to the land and his desire to provide his family and friends with a place of serenity and abundance. Edward poured his heart and soul into this endeavor.
Ed will be remembered as a loving father, devoted partner, and remarkable individual. His zest for life and unwavering love for his family will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
Edward is survived by his wife Sharon and children Ryan and Maggie, as well as nieces and nephews Meghan, Charlie, Ben, Abby, Michael, Danny, Karrina, Matthew, Samantha, Lucas, Alex, Zac and Jacob. Additionally, he has cousins and extended family living in New Jersey and friends around the world. Their cherished memories will forever keep Edward's spirit alive.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Edward's well-lived life will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Hwy., Culpeper, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, his family kindly requests a donation made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) as Edward held their mission close to his heart in memory of his mother.
