Bobbi/Babsi as she was called, was born in DC and resided in Glen Dale, Md for many years, later moving to Rixeyville, Va. At retirement she and her husband moved to their beautiful family farm in Pocahontas County, WV. Most recently, she moved to Florida to escape the winter weather!
Flowers, gardening, quilting and spending time with her family were her most cherished hobbies. Barbara worked as a Florist for over 30 years creating beautiful arrangements for others. Her wedding flowers and funeral pieces touched the heart of many in both happy and sad occasions. She truly was an artist, expressing her love through flowers. That same artistry came through with her quilting ability. The color combinations and her eye for design was remarkable, making her quilts one of a kind and cherished by others.
Barbara was a member of Little Fork Episcopal Church while living in Rixeyville, Va. and later of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Marlinton, WV. Always sharing her time, energy and talents she was able to coordinate events such as colonial days, bible school, construction projects, and back pack programs for children. Her community was very important to her.
Family was her heart. In her final days , it was not the fear of death, but only sadness about leaving her loved ones hear on this earth.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Contributions in her memory can be made to Hospice of the Piedmont at 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300 Charlottesville, Va. 22911
