Lynn Eldridge Harris, 71, of Cullman, AL, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at Orange Beach, AL. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 3 pm to 5 pm at Moss Service Funeral Home, Cullman, AL. The funeral service will be at 5 pm in the chapel with burial in Cullman City Cemetery. Jeff Steele will officiate.
Lynn was born February 17, 1951, in Cullman, AL. He graduated from Hanceville High School and attended St. Bernard College. He retired from IDG/Boring Smith after a long career in industrial sales.
Lynn was an ordained deacon and served at Highland Park Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals, AL, and Faith Baptist Church, Vinemont, AL. He had a life-long love of golf and all sports—especially Alabama football. Most recently he enjoyed breakfast at Jack’s, bowling, playing pool, and boxing with his Rock Steady group in Decatur, AL. He loved to travel and was blessed to see so much of God’s beauty all over the world with the love of his life. He will always be remembered for his wit, humbleness, generosity, and love for “his girls” which was beyond measure.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Lacie Lynn Harris; his brothers-in-law, John McAnnally and Darrell Mosteller; and sister-in-law, Marilyn McAnnally; and his son-in-law, Dr. Shane Whitehead.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann Harris; daughter, Nikki Whitehead; granddaughters, Jessica Akin and Sydney (Walker) Orr; great-granddaughter, Ella Akin; sister, Carolyn (Larry) Mince; brother, Rick (Angel) Harris; sister-in-law, Martha Mosteller; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
