Fred Jenkins Little, age 100, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cullman City Cemetery. Casual attire is welcome.
Fred, known to many as Jenkins, was born on December 24, 1923. He was married to the love of his life, Willene Creel Little, for 71 wonderful years until her passing in 2017. Together, they enjoyed traveling, especially with Willene’s two sisters and their spouses, creating cherished memories at the beach every October. Fred was a dedicated Mason and a talented master gardener. His annual garden yielded legendary jars of green beans, chili sauce, tomatoes, and salsa.
Fred lived a long, healthy, and fulfilling life, reaching the remarkable milestone of 100 years. He took great pride in his family and found joy in his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather. His gentle demeanor, dry humor, and unwavering kindness touched all who knew him.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Elaine (Dr. Wayne B.) Fuller of Cullman; his three grandchildren, Suzanne (Terry) Harbin, Jay (Melissa) Fuller of Cullman, and Jenny (Tyler) Malke of Birmingham; and three great-grandchildren, Casey, Elizabeth, and Nicholas Harbin. He is also remembered fondly by several loved nieces and nephews.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Diane Carter, who assisted as a dedicated caregiver for twelve years, and full-time for the past four years. Diane's love, care, and support brought great comfort, for which we will always be grateful.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cullman County Commission on Aging, Meals on Wheels: 1519 Sportsman Lake Rd N.W., Cullman, AL 35055.
