Dixie gave me this cat and it still guards my door. I see it every morning and think of her.

I was so glad you brought your Mom to Cullman to see Mom.  She shared with me some of her and Moms  young life.  I can see how special their friendship was.  I know Mom will greatly miss talking to her. My heart and prayers go out to you Family and always remember our doors are always open for you.

I will remember your smile, your laugh, and your signature phone greeting, a special way of saying  "Hello". I am forever grateful for our weekly walks while my girls were at dance. You were the first to tell me I would fall in love with Savannah and you knew I would not be moving back to Birmingham. You handled the loss of your husband and your son with grace and I can only image the comfort you now have.  I asked my girls about their favorite memories and the top of the list was your mini records (CDs) you used to share your love of Elvis with them.  Peace to all of your family.  

I will miss my best friend 'Dixie Ruth'. 
The first time I met her I brought my coffee pot and that started the habit. I would come over almost every morning. Knock on the door and say "Dixie Ruth coffee break time".
The egg rolls for lunch when  the children were at school. 
So many conversations about the good and bad times. 
The cards and many little gifts we gave each other. It's hard to put into words.
I will always love and will miss my friend.
With each cup of coffee I will think of you, Anita, Sherry and Frank.

We would always sign off with "I love you."


My dear aunt Dixie, we shared a birthday. 
As I child I was always so excited to visit her family's beautiful home where I always knew I was family. 
Cook outs, Christmases, listening to the aunts and uncles sitting around the table talking until late in the night. 
Always the one with the perfect outfit, the funny under the breath comments, and a smile. 


From Elizabeth Hart: 
My sister may not always be at my side, but she is always in my heart.
She was my oldest sister. She worked at the telephone company, and bought me a big baby doll, which I still have. The doll is now 65 years old and is still among my prized possessions. 
She always made sure I had plenty of toys under the Christmas tree, and pretty dresses to wear. I will miss her dearly.
