Sebastian D. Lacson

Born on January 20, 1956, in President Roxas, Capiz, Philippines, Sebastian was one of 14 children. He cherished his close-knit family and enjoyed spending time with his siblings growing up. He pursued higher education at the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City (Philippines) before pursuing a career that spanned several fields and countries.

On May 16, 1987, Sebastian married Rosario Garcia, the love of his life, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. Together, they raised a loving family.

Sebastian had a diverse career, including a seven-year tenure with Banco De Oro in the Philippines, nine years with Lasalle Bank of America and a long and dedicated 29 years with the United States Postal Service. Throughout his life, he remained active in several organizations, serving as president of the USPS Filipino-American Association and being involved with the Pototan Circle Philippines, the HP (Forever Love) Group Philippines, and the Fox Valley Filipino-American Catholic Ministry.

Sebastian’s passions were many. He loved playing basketball, singing karaoke, cooking Filipino dishes and BBQ and playing games such as mahjong, Chinese Checkers and cards. His love for life was evident in his warm sense of humor, generosity and the countless jokes he would share. He was deeply devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren, and treasured spending time with his wife, children, relatives and friends.

Sebastian also held great pride in his heritage. His grandfather, Aniceto Lacson, was a revolutionary leader and president of the Negros Republic, a pivotal figure in the Negros Revolution. Gen. Aniceto Lacson had 21 children, one of them being Sebastian's father, Luis Torres Lacson. This legacy was a source of great pride for Sebastian and his family.

Sebastian is survived by his beloved wife, Rosario Lacson; children, Luis (Jessica) Lacson, Paul (Brandi) Lacson and Nelyrose Lacson; and grandchildren, Theo, Deacon, Walter, Felix, Tyler, Relm and Serena Lacson. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Sebastian will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, Illinois 60014. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home, Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, Illinois 60014. Services will begin at 5:00 PM and mass will be held at 6:30 PM, officiated by Father William Antillon.

Sebastian Lacson will be dearly missed by his family, friends and the community he was so deeply a part of. May he rest in peace.
