Salvatore T. Geraci, 98, of Algonquin, a loving father passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. He was born to John and Josephine (Parisi) Geraci. He had two brothers, Vito, Joe and a sister Ann. Salvatore proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army in Korea, wounded in 1952, and awarded the purple heart. He was proud of his service to the City of Chicago as a section foreman in Streets and Sanitation. He married in 1953 to Rosemary Walsh and had two children, Diane Geraci (Shrake) and John Geraci (deceased). He married Rose Wieneke in 1981. They moved to Manchester, Tennessee when he retired. Upon Rose’s passing in 2011, he relocated to Algonquin, Illinois to live with his daughter. He met and enjoyed the companionship of Mary Lou Day. He is survived by his daughter Diane (Glenn), grandchildren, Geoffrey and Philip Shrake. He also was proud to have achieved Fourth Degree knighthood with the Knights of Columbus. He loved to play pinochle at the Dundee Senior Center and ballroom dance in his younger years.
A memorial gathering will be held in his honor on Saturday, December 21st at (12:00 noon) with a prayer service at 1pm at Querhammer and Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
