West Ray Jensen

West was born on August 13, 1988, in East Chicago, Indiana to Philip and Michele (Kacher) Jensen. His parents are surviving. Also left to cherish his memory are, his brother, Clint Jensen; sister, Karley Jensen; his Oma and Poppa, Ray and Christel Kacher; his loving little girl he raised Alyssa Deistler; Aunts Diana, Linda, Flois; Uncle, Paul.

He was preceded in death by his baby boy, Blake West Jensen; grandparents, West and Donna Jensen; Uncles, John, Prentice, and James Jensen, and Uncle Gene Kacher.

After graduating from DeMotte Learning Center with honors, he went to achieve four degrees in Science Technology and Journeyman Ironworking from IVY Tech Gary and Local #395 apprenticeship school. He continued being a Journeyman Ironworker Local #395 for seven years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish, also ride dirt bikes. West will be remembered for his compassion, loving, kind and forgiving heart.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 2pm until the time of his funeral at 6 pm, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375). A private burial will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family for a charity to be determined at a later date.
