OBITUARY
Robert "Bobby" Mendez
22 March, 1966 – 12 February, 2020
IN THE CARE OF
Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens
Our beloved brother, Robert (Bobby) age 53 has passed on February 12, 2020 and will be celebrating his reunion with his father Francisco (Shorty) Mendez in heaven. For those of you who knew Bobby, you knew what a fun, loving and affectionate guy he was. Bobby has left us with many happy, loving memories one being he had his own lingo: “olicious”, “odeGod”, “susta mi”, “que pasa tu?” to name a few. When you walked into the house, he would greet you with a big smile, sometimes with a hug and a kiss on your forehead. For those of you who didn’t know him, Bobby loved the police enforcement, and wrestling, but most of all he was greatly fond of his hot wheels. You couldn’t visit him without bringing him a hot wheel otherwise he would send you to Kmart to buy him one. Bobby is survived by his mother, Bonifacia Mendez; 3 brothers Jesus (Angela) Mendez, Armando Mendez, Francisco Mendez, Jr.; and 8 sisters, Julia Aviles; Irma Mendez; Irene (Albert) Sanchez; Carmen (John) Hall; Celsa Tomesek; Teresita Mendez; Sophia (Samuel) Ruiz; Marilyn (Tim) Jordan; along with 32 nieces and nephews; 48 great nieces and nephews; 9 great great nieces and nephews. Visitation in memory of Bobby will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, Sunday February 16, 2020 from 2pm to 8 pm. Additional visitation will be held Monday, February 17, 2020 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am (time of service) at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
