Phillip Lee Beck

Phillip was born November 16, 1939 in Harvey, Illinois, to the late Frank and Florence (Warfield) Beck. Also preceding him in death are his loving wife Juanita (Petty) Beck of 54 years, and siblings; Clifford Beck, Gloria Wentworth, and Frank Beck.

Left to cherish his memory are his son Danny (Monica) Beck; grandchildren, Danielle (Nathan) Whitehead, Michael Beck, Amanda (Jordan) Gonzalez, Halen Evans, and MacKenzie Evans; great grandchildren, Kenneth Jr., Layla, Gabriella, and Catherine; brother, Larry (Audrey) Beck; and sister Gladys Barker.

Phillip honorably served in the United States Army. After returning home from service, he worked for with his brother at Beck's Crown Bakery, he then transitioned to Dawn Food Products, where he retired. He was an avid golfer and loved to keep his own yard as pristine as a golf course. Loved and cared for his pets, especially his dog Buddy. He was also a talented artist. "Porter" was a genuine family man that enjoyed spending time with large and extended family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be missed dearly by those who loved him.

Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46365). Funeral services will be Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
