Lindy Cergizan

Lindy Thomas Cergizan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong business owner, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Schererville, IN, at the age of 73. Born on October 22, 1951, Lindy was the proud owner of Lindy’s Ace Hardware, where his hard work, dedication, and sense of humor made him a well-known and respected figure in the community.

Lindy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bonnie Lou Cergizan; and is survived by his sons, Mark Thomas Cergizan and Jeremy Cergizan; and his youngest daughter, Tori Jean Cergizan. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Camren Jacob Ochoa and Kashton Jace Gorin, who brought him immense joy.

Throughout his life, Lindy was an avid hobbyist with a passion for small machining projects and the restoration of old steam engines and tractors. He enjoyed many hobbies, including sailing, skiing, camping, and traveling, which brought him a sense of adventure and connection to the world around him. A grateful believer in Jesus Christ, Lindy’s deep faith and great sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew him.

A memorial visitation to celebrate Lindy's life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Friends and family are welcome to attend to honor his memory and the legacy of love, laughter, and kindness he leaves behind.
