Ken leaves behind his beautiful family, daughter, Wilma (Arlie) Fugate; son, Carl (Jenny) Smith; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Elva (Dean) Lykins; and very close friend, Pastor Ray Jackson.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 38 years, Doshia Mae; life companion of 27 years, wife, Judy Smith; parents, Thornton and Susie Smith; daughter, Evelyn (Steve) Pearl; brother, Bill Smith; and four sisters, Augusta Moseley, Ezma Young, Leona McCormick, and Gladys Gayheart.
His family describes him as a man of many colors. He enjoyed his time outdoors, riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles across the country with his furry companion “Peaches” the “Hog Dog,” and creating memories with his family and friends. Ken had many talents and took his professional work very seriously. His hard shell allowed him to stay on task and provide for his family and to extend himself with his hobbies. His relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will forever be remembered.
A Public Visitation for Ken will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. His Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Philip Burks, will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2022, with Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
