Judith Ann Harper, age 80, of Hammond, IN passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at home after a long illness. Judith was born February 12, 1942 in Hammond, IN.
Judith is survived by her sons, Thomas Harper of Munster, IN and Timothy Harper of Hammond, IN; her cousins, Shirley Kristoff, Chris and James Mauck, and Angeline Kantola; her sister in-law, Agnes (Ray) Harper; and nieces & nephews, Francine, Laurel, Raetta, Janie, Chrissie, John, George, and Theresa.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Ann Harper-Kab; her mother, Ann Kaminski; her father, Stanley C. Kaminski; her brother, Stanley "Sonny" T. Kaminski; aunts, Verle, Helen, Stephanie, and Annie; her uncles, Edward and Walter; and her cousin, Sharon Kantola.
Judith was a lifelong resident of Hammond. She graduated from Hammond High School in 1959 and Sawyer Business College. She worked as a records clerk at First Federal Bank in Gary, and then moved to the City of Hammond Public Works, working as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Sanitation & Streets Departments for 19 years until her retirement. Judith was a devoted mother to her family, deriving most of her joy from watching her children grow. She was always eager to help those in need and she will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
