John Whiting

John Whiting, age 68, of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2023. John is the loving husband of 46 years to Laine Whiting; devoted father to Jennifer (Dave) Isom, and Julie (Matt) Demko; proud grandfather to David Isom, Joseph Isom, Kate Isom, Matthew Demko, Jenna Demko and Aedyhn Demko; son to the late Jerry and Bernice Whiting; cherished brother to George (Cheryl) Whiting, Ronald (the late Gwenn) Ilic, the late Thomas (the late Barb) Whiting, the late Pete Ilic, the late Linda Whiting, and the late Cindy Whiting; brother-in-law to Kevin (Sharon) Etheridge; uncle to Erica Spears, Jerry Ilic, Greg Ilic, Randy Ilic, Steffanie Etheridge, Nicholas Etheridge and Eric Etheridge. John retired after 45 years of faithful service at Inland Steel. He was an avid reader, a motorcycle enthusiast, and a huge lover of movies. Visitation will be Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral Services will be Monday, January 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
