Helen "Kootsie" Grcevich

Helen was born August 8, 1926 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Walter and Helen (Leskosky) Rubies. Also preceding her in death are her loving husband, George Grcevich "Tooky"; a son, Dr. George Grcevich; and a brother, Vincent Rubies.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cathleen (Jack) May, Mark (Judi) Grcevich, Marian (Rob) Robertson and a daughter-in-law, Suzy (late Dr. George) Grcevich; grandchildren, Michele (J.R.) Munson, Jeff (Ilene) May, Heather (Kevin) Smith, Tiffany Forrester, George Grcevich, Christy Grcevich, Audrey Robertson; and eight great grandchildren; sister, Marian (Milan) Chobanov; sister-in-law, Jane Montgomery;several loving nieces and nephews; and her loving and devoted caregiver, Tuya.

Helen was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She remained very active in her later years, by, shopping, going to lunch, traveling,and being with family and friends. She was a faithful member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church of Schererville. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 3-8 pm with a scripture service at 3:30 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375). Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 10:30 am DIRECTLY at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1 W. Wilhelm Rd.; Schererville, Indiana 46375) with Fr. Martin Dobrzynski officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
