Eleanor A. Hull

Eleanor A. Hull, age 94, formerly of Hammond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2016 in Greensboro, North Carolina, with her loving family at her side. Eleanor was born March 16, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Alfred and Vera (Auger) Bon Durant. Also prceeding her in death are her loving husband for forty seven years, William D. Hull; sister Jean Miller. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Daniel Hull and Sharon (Denny) Smith; grandchildren, Scott (Tammi) Erickson and Eric (Sommer) Smith; great grandchildren, Elaine Erickson and Mason Smith. Faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Hammond and Sommerville, Texas, and a past member of Eastern Star of South Bend. Mrs. Hull operated a daycare center from her Hammond home for over 17 years, after her two children were raised. While raising her family she was one of the most participating parents, volunteering as Girl Scout Troop Leader, attending all sports and extra curricular activities for her children. Her kind and maternal personality extended later in life into grand motherhood. She loved spending time and sharing stories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her strongest passion was reading and writing letters to those she loved and staying in contact. Her tiny acts of kindness to many people will be remembered always. Visitation will be Friday, August 12, 2016 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375) with Pastor Randy Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
