David Wendell Moll

David W. Moll, age 71, of Schererville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Dave was the loving husband for 41 years to Beth Anne Moll; cherished son-in-law to the late Frank and the late Athene Knapik; cousin to several; and wonderful friend to many, including his church family at First United Methodist Church of Hammond. Dave was a 1970 graduate of Hammond High School. He graduated from Purdue Calumet and received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago. Dave retired after 30 years of faithful service at Arcelor-Mittal (Inland Steel). After retirement, he worked for American Industrial Machinery in Merrillville, IN, for 15 years. Dave was life-long member of First United Methodist Church of Hammond, where he sang for many years in the Chancel Choir, served as Chair of the Staff-Parish and Finance Committees, and volunteered in many other areas. Dave was an avid golfer and loved sailing. He especially enjoyed spending time on the lake and at the Hayward Golf Club in Hayward, WI, with Beth and his extended family. Visitation will be March 23, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of his Celebration of Life at 12:00 noon at the First United Methodist Church of Hammond, 6635 Hohman Avenue, Hammond, IN 46324, with Rev. James Denton officiating. Memorials may be made toward a charity of your choice or the First United Methodist Church of Hammond.
