Carolyn Marie Dunn

Carolyn M. Dunn, 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. She was born May 26, 1925 in Chicago, IL to William and Phyllis (nee Payne) Lee. She was married to Paul Dunn and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2010. She was a member of St. James Parish, Highland, IN. Carolyn volunteered in the gift shop at St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Center in Dyer. During WWII Carolyn was active with the USO and was even included in a photo as a pinup girl for the U.S. Navy during the war. She was in the Navy Mother's Club during the Vietnam War. Carolyn enjoyed golf, bowling and Bunco and was once active in the Highland Grandmother's Club. She also served as a former runway model at the Southlake Mall. Carolyn is survived by her sons: Dennis (Pam) Sullivan of TN and Casey (Sheila) Dunn of Hobart, IN; daughters: Eileen (Rick) Rodell of CA, Linda (Ronald Breger Jr.) O'Neal of Hammond, IN and Cheryl Mc- Ging of Highland, IN; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. Preceded in death by a grandson, Brian O'Neal. Funeral service for Carolyn will be on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN with Pastor Mitch Whidden officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
