Barbara June Johnson

She is survived by her children, Danny (Joanne) Johnson, David (Gail) Johnson, Diane Smith and Donald Johnson; grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Christa (Ryan) Lucas, Mallory Johnson, Derek Johnson, Dayna (Eric) Kowalczyk, Jacob Smith, Shin (Nicole) Smith; great grandchildren, Madilynn, Abbigail, Dilylah and Emma; sister, Lois Stevens; brother, Chad Sowell and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Daniel D. Johnson and sister, Betty Sowell.

Barb was born on December 16, 1930 in Gary, IN to the late Yateman and Thelma Sowell and was a graduate of Gary Edison High School. On July 7, 1951 she married the love of her life and together they raised four children. Barb was an active member of Lake Hills Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher, nursery attendant and was a member of the choir. Barb was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN with Pastor Phil Humber officiating.

Interment to be held privately by the family.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
