Karen A. Colombo, a longtime resident of Croton-on-Hudson, passed away on January 26, 2023. She was 75. Karen was born on December 12, 1947 in Ossining, NY to the late William and Marie (Kennedy) King. She worked for many years as a teacher’s aide at Croton-Harmon School District. Prior to that she worked at Grand Union and North American Phillips Labs. She was active with the Croton caring committee, the Croton seniors and the Harry Chapin Run against Hunger.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Sam Colombo; her son Chris Colombo (Carrie Howe); her grandchildren Ashley Colombo (Hassan Barrow) and Christopher Colombo; her great grandchildren Jaida Astacio and Amina Barrow; her sister Jeanne King and brother William King Jr.
She was predeceased by her brother Michael King.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 4 to 8 PM at Holy Name of Mary Church, 110 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10 AM at Holy Name of Mary Church. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
