Daniel Thomas Cotter

Daniel was born on October 8, 1955 to the late William F. and Jane (Hartman) Cotter. He attended and graduated from the Croton-on-Hudson School District, in High School he was an extraordinary athlete. Daniel was a retired NYPD Officer and for many years he worked as a Community Affairs Officer in the 45th Precinct and took his father’s shield number. Dan was able to help so many people in his life; he was more of a social worker, teacher, physical therapist, barber and DJ extraordinaire. He will be missed by all who were lucky to have known him.

He is survived by his beloved wife Amy; loving children, Shannon and her partner Michael Pasciolla, Liam and Patrick Cotter; devoted sister Kitty Cotter and her partner Dian Hamilton and caring brother Michael Cotter and his partner Angel Colon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 7-9pm and Saturday August 1st from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
