Ronald Hammond passed away on January 17, 2017, after losing his wife of 70 years, Phyllis Hammond, on December 26, 2016. Flip and Don (Ron) were proud of their five children: Connie Young (James), Patty Wright (Rodney), Donna Goldberg (Jerry), sons John (Jennifer) and David (Maria). In addition, their lives were enriched by their nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Ronald is survived by three sisters, Margaret McMannis, Eleanor Hoffman and Mary Lou Slattery, plus a multitude of nieces and nephews.Friends and extended family are welcomed to celebrate the lives of Ronald and Phyllis at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., Sunday, January 22. Funeral and memorial service for Ronald and Phyllis will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, with Lester Pauley officiating.
