Nick was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Mary and James Randolph, Pat and Don Niebaum, grandfather Mike Pauley, Sr. and his biological father Mark Niebaum.
Nick was a 2006 graduate of Nitro High School and had attended Marshall University majoring in software engineering.
At a young age, he discovered he had a gift for computer programming and coding and it was his passion. He had worked at several web design companies including Bulldog Creative, Naturally Curly and the State of WV in Huntington, Charleston and Austin, TX. He was instrumental in getting several large and successful projects off the ground. Nick was currently employed by FedEx.
Nick was an introvert who was often quiet, but when he spoke he was insightful and funny. He will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and sarcasm. He was also a talented artist that enjoyed drawing. Nick also enjoyed playing video games, a hobby that began when he was a kid. He also like to fish.
Nick spent many years battling the demons of addictions. He had many setbacks but also many successes in this terrible war. He met many good friends who helped in this battle at Recovery Point and Harmony Ridge in Parkersburg. He was involved in the recovery community there where he tried to help his many friends and others that needed a boost to get started down on the road to recovery.
The apples of his eye though were his two children, Sophia, 10 and Parker, 6. He loved spending time with them, taking them to parks, playgrounds and swimming. He enjoyed watching them participate in their many and varied activities.
Nick is survived by his parents, Theresa and Mike Pauley, his children Sophia and Parker Niebaum, his grandmother, Linda Pauley, the mother of his children Somiyah Said and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Celebration of Nicholas’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home with Celebrant HR Whittington presiding. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
