He was born December 16, 1948 in Charleston, WV the son of Clyde and Iris Lowe Moses. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ethel F. Moses.
He was a retired coal miner employed with Southern Ohio Coal Company and CONSOL Energy. He was a US Army veteran, member of the UMWA, and an active sponsor of University of Rio Grande Athletics. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend that will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Douglas L. Moses, Jr. (Michelle), of Covington, VA, Michael W. Moses (Carolyn), of Lore City, OH, granddaughters, Kelsey Brooke Moses and Sara Grace Moses, brother, Clyde Moses, Jr. sisters, Glenda Perry and Barbara Booth, brother in law, Larry Phalen (Naomi), and sister in laws, Carolyn McGrew, Bertha Phalen, and Tena Dye and twin sister Nena Elliott.
Celebration of Douglas’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home Cross Lanes with Rev. Joe Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes with Military Graveside Rites Conducted by St Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
