He was born on April 4, 1966 in South Charleston, the son of Charles “Charlie” and Reva Romine Johnson, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his uncles Paul Simpson and Carroll Romine, and brother in law, Jonathan Wells.
He was a graduate of Nitro High School, a hard-working employee of Rudd Equipment and Republic Container Company, and a member of North Charleston Baptist Church. He was an avid sportsman, devoting his leisure time to hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He truly never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathy, sons, Charles “C.J.” Johnson, III, of Cross Lanes, and Robert “Robbie” Johnson (Sydney), of Red House, sister, Diane Johnson Wells, of Allen, TX, brother, Douglas Johnson, of Cross Lanes, aunt Ruby Simpson, of Nitro, countless cousins, nephews, nieces, family members, and friends.
Celebration of Chuck’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 3, 2023 at Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens with Pastor David Carney officiating.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
