She was born August 25, 1934 in Peytona, the daughter of Brook and Vallie Gore Kirk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard Franklin Hager, brother, Lewis Allen Kirk and grandson, Isreal Michael Ford.
Wanda attended Sherman High School and graduated in 1952. Wanda attended nursing school at Morris Harvey College and later completed course work to obtain her LPN. Wanda was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of Washington Street Church of Christ in St. Albans where she was a Bible School Class Teacher, and worked on the Bible Correspondence Courses. She was also a past president of the Beechwood Estates Garden Club and Homeowners Association. Wanda was a loving wife, mother and
friend. She enjoyed the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen and a house full of children. Through the years Wanda had many interest. She enjoyed league bowling, tennis, oil painting, needle work, gardening and bird watching.
Wanda is survived by her children, Richard Allan Hager (Pam), Marcia Payne (Doug), Paul Hager (Wendy), Tony Hager (Allyson), grandchildren, Jason, Seth, Corey, Lindsey, Austin, Elizabeth, Victoria, and John-Phillip, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and sisters, Dianna Preston,
and Rosemary Keffer.
Celebration of Wanda’s life will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, February 1, 2019 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Minister Eddie Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in S.M. Javins Cemetery, Peytona.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 10 until time of service at the funeral home.
