Arlene Jean Nester, 74, of St. Albans, went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2014. She was born December 23, 1939 in Sattes, a daughter of Chester Arthur and Ruth Lyons Jeffers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas R. Nester, and brother, Frank Jeffers. Arlene was a 1957 graduate of St. Albans High School. She was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church where she volunteered and served faithfully. She was a “Social Butterfly” who enjoyed spending time with her friends. A loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by son, Donald Nester and his wife Pam, of St. Albans, daughter, Elizabeth Wade, of Murfreesboro, TN, grandchildren, Philip, Brittany, Cassie and Rebekah, and brother, Arthur Eugene Jeffers, of Gallipolis, OH. Celebration of Arlene’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Pastors Butch Ledman and Timothy Campbell. Gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
