Martha L. (Short) Stone

Born December 15, 1947, she was the daughter of Herman Alexander and Dorothy Mae (Wilson) Short. Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Donald J. (Kristi) Stone of El Paso and George Russell “Rusty” Stone of Normal; two granddaughters, Ashlyn Stone and Maegan Stone; three sisters, Mary Compton of Deer Creek, Helen Taylor of Bloomington and Marjorie (Eric) Ho of Alma, Michigan; two brothers, James T. (Kathleen) Short of Carmichael, California and Samuel Short of Clinton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha formerly worked for the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and last worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Murphy & Beane in Culver City, California.

She will be missed everyday by her family who always appreciated her phone calls and pictures.

Her graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
