He was born May 16, 1974 in Peoria to David Marshall and Faith (Aupperle) Hicks.
Surviving are three daughters, Autumn (Austin) Zinkin of Creve Coeur, Olivia McAvoy and Sophia Hicks, both Davenport, Washington; his mother and step-father, Faith and Larry Trail of Washington; his father and step-mother, David and Connie Hicks of Morton; one brother, Allen Hicks of Washington; three step-brothers, Brian (Crystal) Trail East Peoria, Robert Trail of Morton and Daniel Trail of Louisville, Kentucky; one uncle Stephen (Suzanne) Aupperle of Michigan and one aunt, Diane May of Florida.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Auric and River Zinkin.
Jon worked as a self-employed handyman and enjoyed riding four wheelers, watching monster trucks and boating. He was able to easily make friends and always there to help, never leaving till the job was completed.
He attended Dayspring Native American United Methodist Church in East Peoria.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Dayspring Native American United Methodist Church in East Peoria. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
