Stephane Caren Inness passed away on October 3 in her home in Craig with her husband by her side after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 3, 1946 to Paul and Marilou Thompson, the first of seven children. She spent her life back and forth between Colorado and Nebraska. She graduated from Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in 1964 and later went on to receive a degree from Wesleyan College in Nebraska. Then continued her education even further in Science and Chemistry at CNCC in Colorado. She began her career in the lab working for the State of Nebraska, and eventually moved to Craig where she worked and retired from Tristate Generation.
She was a loving wife, devoted mother and wonderful grandmother. She often kept her grandchildren for the summer, and took her family on vacations, creating cherished memories together. She had a brilliant mind and had a passion for learning, whether it involved acquiring a new skill, trade or diving into a new craft project. Stephane had a passion for music, a love for exploring new places and a remarkable talent for creating various crafts.
Stephane was preceded in death by her parents Paul & Marilou Thompson, brother Roger Thompson, sister Paula Lamb, brother-in-law Michael McGill and granddaughter Ashley Freese. She is survived by her husband Bruce Inness, Sisters: Debbie (Michael) Allen, Diana McGill, Brothers: Vince Thompson, Thane Thompson, Children: John (Donna) Alford, Dawn (Frank) Pecenka, Eustacia Crable, Shawn Ahrens, Seth Inness, Stepchildren: Dominic Inness, Amy Inness, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
A service will be held at The Journey at First Baptist Church on Thursday October 10th at 2:00pm. Refreshments to follow service. A graveside service, burial and celebration of life will take place in Nebraska at a later date.
