Linda Carol Ivy

Linda Ivy passed away in her home on October 23, 2021. She was born July 3, 1944 in Spiro, Oklahoma to Harold and LaVaughn Branscum. Linda grew up in Tucker, Oklahoma where she attended a small country school that consisted of two classrooms and two teachers. The two teachers happened to be Linda’s parents. She graduated from Spiro High School in 1962 where she was the valedictorian of her class as well as an all-state basketball player.

Linda married William “Bill” Ivy on October 18, 1962 in Cowlington, Oklahoma. Together, with their three children they moved around Arkansas and Oklahoma following various jobs until they permanently relocated to Craig, Colorado in 1974. Her children remember her being their biggest sports fan. She never missed a game or cross country/track meet. She took great pride in always being available for her kids and her husband, no matter what time of day. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.

For many years Linda sang solos for weddings, funerals, Christmas and Easter programs. She was a mentor for MOPS (mothers of preschoolers), taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery and helped prepare hundreds of meals in the church kitchen. She and Bill were members of Calvary Baptist Church for many years, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church (Tucker, Oklahoma), and recently attended the Cowboy Church in Craig, Colorado.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father Harold and LaVaughn Branscum and brother Wade Branscum. She is survived by her husband William “Bill” Ivy, sister Sandy (Tom) Tobler, children Preston (Cheryl) Ivy, Scott (Kristin) Ivy, Sandy (Shane) Camilletti, grandchildren Billy (Ester) Ivy, Brian Ivy, Ryan Ivy, Marshal Ivy, Katie Ivy, Dylon Camilletti, Makayla (Derek) Duran; great-grandchildren: Ty, Kalee, Rylan Ivy, Madison Duran, Callie Ivy, Kalan and Lael Burke.
