A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Craig Christian Church.
Anthony Anddress Hillewaert was born the son of John Phillip and Mary Lou (Wilson) Hillewaert on September 9, 1956 in Craig, Colorado. Tony spent his childhood and attended schools in Craig. He graduated from Moffat County High School with the class of 1974.
On February 20, 1976, Tony married the love of his life, Lisa Ferrari in Craig. To this union, two sons were born. Tony and Lisa raised their boys in Craig and celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this year.
Tony worked for the local coal mines for over 32 years. He most recently was employed with Savage Services as an electrician. In his spare time, Tony enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing softball, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. More importantly, he was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Tony is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lisa Hillewaert of Craig; two sons, Anthony (Lindsey) Hillewaert of Grand Junction and Benjamin (Lona) Hillewaert of Craig; and five siblings: Leon (Judy) Hillewaert of CA, John (Joan) Hillewaert of Craig, Jeff Hillewaert of Craig, Ray (Robin) Hillewaert of Grand Junction and Bev (Bobby) Williamson of TX. Tony is further survived by six grandchildren: Trevor (Rachel), Kalob, Trenton, Tyson, Emily and Zayden; two great-grandchildren, Braedan and Bentley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, William Lee Hillewaert.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Tony’s memory to the St. Mary’s Oncology Department in care of Grant Mortuary.
