Muriel Zimmer Theriot

Muriel is survived by her children David G. Theriot (Tiffany), Yvette M. Theriot and Louis P. Theriot, IV and her grandchildren David G. Theriot, Jr. (Kayla), Mark L. Theriot, Jr. and Ryan J. Theriot. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Zimmer, her niece Pam Zimmer Meyer, and nephews Greg Zimmer and Kenny Zimmer.

Muriel is preceded in death by her husband Louis P. Theriot III, her son Mark Louis Theriot, Sr., her parents, her brother Raymond Henry Zimmer, and her nephew Jeff Zimmer.

Muriel was born and raised in New Orleans, LA and graduated from Academy of the Holy Angels in 1955. In 1957, she married Louis P. Theriot, III and together they had four children: Mark, David, Yvette, and Louis, IV. She and Louis moved to Chalmette in 1965 and raised their children while making many friends during their time there until 2005 when they would relocate to Mandeville. Muriel was an avid gardener; she could always be seen outside tending to her garden, and was proud to have won “Garden of the Month” in her subdivision numerous times. She loved spending time with her family, especially holidays and their yearly vacations to Gulf Shores when the whole family could be together for Labor Day. Muriel, as well as the Theriot family, enjoyed many memorable times with her best friend Judy Benandi, Judy’s husband A.J. and their daughters, Lisa and Angie. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Robert “Bob” Massett, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 12:30 PM with visitation at the church beginning at 10:30 AM.

Burial will follow the services in St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden, Covington, LA under the direction of Grace Funeral Home.
