Peacefully, passed away with family by his side, at the Inglefield Nursing Home, Totland, Isle of Wight, England, after at lengthy illness with Dementia, on Tuesday, June 30th, 2015, at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband of Patricia for 49 years. Loving father of Linda and Rosie. Father in-law of John and David. Dear grandfather of Steven, Christopher, Drew and Lucy. Sadly missed by his brother Brian and his wife Barbara, and their children Helen, Phil, and Jan from Liverpool, England. Will be remembered by his Nephew Gary Kay and his wife Stacy. John was born in Liverpool England; being Head Boy in Liverpool Cathedral Choir and playing cricket and tennis for Fairlawn tennis club and was an avid supporter of the Everton Football Club. After two years in the Army, John took up his first post in Martins Bank as it was then. He was a cashier at a local branch in Liverpool. From there he advanced to staff department and was dealing with Staff loans at Head Office He played tennis and table tennis for the Bank and met Pat while playing in a tennis match together against Manchester District. Around 1980 he advanced to Manager of London Accounting Office and remained there until he took early retirement to emigrate to Canada. He worked for Barclays Bank in London in the accounting office as a manager. In his retirement he resided in Oshawa and enjoyed playing tennis for many years at tennis clubs in England, Oshawa, Bowmanville and Port Perry; and enjoying his many holidays by the beach in Cornwall England, Canada, and Florida. John will be remembered for his devotion to his family, patience, Kindness and good humor. Cremation took place on the Isle of Wight, England.
