Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Thursday, September 21st, 2017 in his 83rd year. Dearly beloved husband of Maureen (nee Farrell) of 54 years. Loving father of Mary Anne Ryan (John), Jane Marie (William), Catherine (John), Martha (Lawrence), Elizabeth, Sarah (Stephen). Cherished “Papa” of Thomas, Anna, Joseph, William; Elizabeth, William, Leo, Reta; James, Patrick, Maria, Kathleen, and Clare; Isaac; John, Lily, and Kate. Dear brother of Hanora (late Roy), Rita (Montcalm), Roseanne, and predeceased by siblings, Agnes, Eileen, Stella, Helen, Jean. Dear son of the late Philip and Stella McAvoy.
