Hal was born in Nokomis, Saskatchewan and attended school there. He was predeceased by his loving wife Gene Hicks , parents Noble and Gertrude Hicks and 2 brothers Winston and Gordon and sister Lillian.
He is survived by his son Don and wife Jean, daughter Barbara and husband Gerry, grandchildren: Suzanne (Matt) Hal Jr (Alexis), Warren (Tierney) and Genene (Will), great grandchildren:
Jillian, Elizabeth, Francis, Matteo, Anthony and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Hal joined the RCAF in 1944 and served overseas until 1946. He married Gene, the love of his life in 1949. They moved to many RCAF stations from coast to coast and did a tour of Europe. In 1965 they were transferred to Comox, retiring from the services in 1975. Hal received his Real Estate license, and he worked for Century 21 until finally retiring.
Hal had many interests but in the last few years he spent a lot of time working on his family tree, dating back to 1753. Hal was a 63 year member of the Free Masonry, a member of The Order of Eastern Star and a Past Grand Associate Guardian of Job’s Daughters International.
He is a long time member of the Presbyterian Church in Comox. The family would like to thank Rev Jenn, Angela, Bev and Shannon for all the support of Hal.
