Louise passed peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018 at North Island Hospital Comox Valley at the age of 64. Born in Dingwall, Scotland, Louise emigrated with her family in 1956 to Ocean Falls, BC where she was raised and made many life-long friends. In 1976, she moved to Vancouver, where she had her son Ryan and began a successful career at The Bank of Montreal. In 2002, Louise semi-retired to the Comox Valley and began working at The Home Depot before retiring in 2016.
Louise will be lovingly remembered and missed by her cherished son Ryan and brother Norman, as well as her dearly loved cousins and many great friends that she made throughout the years.
Louise was a kind, caring and generous person who’s heart and spirit touched all who knew her. She loved a good song, good company and a good laugh. She enjoyed her British comedies and mysteries and was fiercely proud of her Scottish heritage. May her strength, passion, pride and spirit go on eternally.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Tyler Falk, as well as the nurses and staff at North Island Hospital for their care, support, and comfort. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Louise’s memory may be made to the BC SPCA. A Celebration of Louise’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. George’s United Church (505 6th St., Courtenay, BC).
