Dear Gordon Lewis Ingleby passed away on December 30, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on October 24, 1925.
Gord joined the Canadian Army in 1943. After serving overseas he came home and was discharged in 1946. He then came to Vancouver Island and worked at logging camps for a few years and then went to Vancouver where he was a brakeman for the CPR for a few more years. Gord re-enlisted as an armourer with the RCAF in 1952.
He was predeceased by parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ingleby, sister Ivy Dixon and brother Ernest Ingleby.
Survived by wife Rose of 52 years, son Edward (Kristina) and grandchildren Karen and Ryan Ingelby, his sister June Madill and Chrissie Telfer.
A Celebration of Gord’s life will be held at a later date. Donations to the Poppy Fund at Legion Branch 17, Courtenay would be appreciated or to the Parkinson’s Association, Suite 600, 890 West Pendor, Vancouver BC V6C 1J9. Arrangements under the direction of Piercy's-Mt. Washington Funeral Home, Courtenay, BC.
