Brock was born on January 24, 1948, in Kelowna, BC to Reginald William (Rex) and Claire Windsor Lupton (nee Roberts). He was educated in Kelowna, graduating from Kelowna Secondary School in 1965. Attending UBC (B. Mus. 1970) he then worked for several years. In 1974 he took the next step towards his long-term goal by enrolling in the Master of Divinity (M. Div.].
During that time he met his first love, Sharon Rose Porter, a nursing students. Brock and Sharon were married on June 3, 1978 at St. John's Anglican Church, Victoria.
Sharon obtained her BScN in 1979, Brock completed an M. Div. degree (Vancouver School of Theology, 1980) and was ordained as an Anglican deacon in 1979, and appointed to a parish in the Diocese of Yukon, where he was ordained priest on Trinity Sunday, 1980. This was followed by ministries in the Shuswap Lake area and in Oliver, BC.
Sharon sadly and unexpectedly died in Penticton Hospital in August, 1994.
Brock returned to university for 1 year to qualify as a school music specialist teacher. He taught music, both in school settings and privately, until his retirement.
During his retirement, Brock continued to be active as a teacher. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Comox Valley Youth Music Center and as honorary clergy assistant at St, John the Divine Anglican Church.
Brock is survived by his and Sharon's four children Rebecca (Becky), Hannah, Jessica (domestic partner Andrew), and Matthew.
A celebration of Brock's life will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, Courtenay at a time and date to be determined.
