Anne Ives

Anne was the youngest surviving child of Margaretha Pastuck (nee Zając) and Alexander Pastuck. Anne is survived by 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her youngest child, Sandra Jean Ives, in 1966 and her husband, John Sutherland Ives, in 1983.

At age 12, Anne travelled by train to join her family in Vancouver, where she lived most of her adult life. She spent 25 years in Crescent Downs, Delta, before moving to Courtenay, BC, in 2014.

Anne graduated from St. Paul’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. She highly valued her training and early experience working as a nurse in Vanderhoof, BC and later in Vancouver hospitals.

Always active, Anne enjoyed line dancing, choir and cycling. At age 62, she joined the Cross Canada Cycle Tour Society and rode across Canada and Australia.

A devoted Catholic, she will be lovingly remembered by family and friends for her ever kind and helpful nature.

A Celebration for Anne will be held in Vancouver at a later date.
