My sweet daughter,
You took a piece of me with you the day you left,
leaving me behind to live life in monotone.
This isn't how it was supposed to be!
The world carries on like nothing has happened, but deep inside...not me.
Part of me is stuck in this uncomfortable place of pain that no one can see. 
I pray to God that I will see you again one day.
It's been five long years without you now, and it still feels like it was yesterday. 
I can still hear you calling my name, "Tuck-ins momma, sing me a song,"  then reality sets in and I'm reminded my life will never be the same.
What I wouldn't give to just have one more day, one more tuck-in, one more lullaby, one more birthday. 
One more day to hold your hand and to watch you live your life as you planned. To see you blossom into a beautiful young woman. 
One more day to sing your song, "Hush Little Emily."
Your sister misses you too. She sings this song to Levi now. You were supposed to be here and be 'Aunt Emily."
I think about all the things I'll miss, your smile, your laugh, but mostly, the mother-daughter relationship we were meant to grow into.

my dear friend, it doesn't matter how much time has passed, I am always thinking of you and wishing things could have been different. I still watch the music video we stayed up all night creating, I cant believe that was 7 years ago.
we had so much fun and you looked so beautiful, and that song always reminds me of you every time I hear it.

Oh, Emily. I remember watching you and Paige grow up. You were just about the same age as my sister....I can't believe it's been 4 years already. It never should have been this way. Today, I wish for peace on your family as they deal with the hardships this day brings. I hope you are at rest. 

I miss you Emily and think about you a lot. We got close for a brief while and you were one of the only people to ever make me feel included and like I belonged somewhere.  I remember when we would go to cross country practice and hide out during the runs hahaha. And we never got caught! I can’t believe you’re gone. It’s been 3 years and I still can’t wrap my head around it. You were always happy, even during first period math which was CRAZY to me! I hope you’re at peace.

Dear Jennifer, I just heard about your daughter Emily. My heart breaks for the pain you and your family are experiencing.  My prayers are with you and your family. 

 

I knew Emily and her family circa 2012-2013 and became very close to them all. It has been years since I have seen or spoke to any of them but when I heard of Emily's death last night, it was just as heartbreaking as if I was still close with them. Emily was always a joy to be around. She was fun and loving and always full of smiles. I always laughed to myself about how much like her mother she was. Not only were they spitting images of each other, but the behavior and goofiness was exactly the same. Emily was welcoming and just full of light. She would light up everything around her, the room, other people, all of it. I do not have the words nor vocabulary to describe someone like her, but I consider myself very lucky to have had her in my life. Even for the short time I did. I have the deepest sympathy for her family in this tragic time. This world was such a better place when she was in it. My deepest love to everyone <3

I didn't know your little girl but I'm a Mother here in Irvine, with a teen daughter. I jus can't imagine the deep sorrow that would come with such news. My friend is in Jerusalem and said she was on her way to the wailing wall and would slip a prayer in for Emily's family and friends for peace and comfort.
Will you ever know the joy that embraced me when I read today that the services would be at Mariners?
Emily isn't gone, she went home...
I don't know what the Lords plans are, but I do know his ways are so much bigger than ours. I don't mean this to be any consolation. But I do know that while she was being knitted in her Mamas womb the Lord knew that day that she would be called home.
May my words help to give you peace and encouragement in this unexpected season .
