Bill was born in Coshocton on April 28, 1937 to the late Dr. James Ralph and Eleanor (Shurtz) Karr. He graduated from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi and later returned to Coshocton, eventually as the owner and operator of Old Country Stone. Bill always enjoyed working with his stone customers and being a part of their projects, doing so until a month before his passing.
Another special part of Bill's life was spending time with his family. Bill is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Betty Harper Karr; four daughters: Kari (Dean) Ringwalt of Walhonding, Kathy (Scott) Hunter of Coshocton, Kristy Tumblin of Nashport and Kimberly Kehl of Coshocton; caring grandchildren, Brice and Seth Ringwalt, Katy Hunter, Leigh Ann (Sean) Thomas, Derek Tumblin, Lauren Tumblin, Kody and Darren Dreher and Karson Kehl; a brother Richard Duncan Karr of Delta Junction, Alaska.
A Memorial Service for Bill will be held at the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, 198 Church Street, Coshocton, OH, with Reverend Robert Carson and Reverend Neal Dearyan officiating, beginning at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 11, 2023. Interment will follow on a later date in Keene UMC Cemetery. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
