She was born on June 20, 1931, in Pittsburg, PA to the late Paul and Eleanor (McCleery) Kern.
On September 5, 1953, she married Richard Forsythe and they spent 50 wonderful years together before Richard’s passing in 2004.
Lois received her B.S.in Dietetics from Muskingum College, her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and her Doctorate in Philosophy from Ohio State University. She was a teacher in the Coshocton City School District and was instrumental in bringing computer technology into the local school system. She was also an adjunct professor at several local colleges.
Lois was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Coshocton where she and her husband led youth groups and other activities in the church. She loved animals and her pets gave her great joy. She loved swimming and also enjoyed music, especially Christmas music, but most importantly, Lois loved and was very proud of her family. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her four children, Sharee (Stefan) Price of Portsmouth, OH, David (Vanessa) Forsythe of Carlsbad, CA, Timothy (Debbie) Forsythe of Smithfield, VA, and John (Cheryl) Forsythe of Huntington, IN, and; six grandchildren, Alison, Steven, Shannon (Tim) and Shane (Sarah), Scott, and Alexandra; and five great-grandchildren, Trent, Logan, James, Ramona, and Walter.
Along with her parents and husband, Lois is preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Mae Richards.
