Simona P. Peña, born February 18, 1923, went to be with our lord on Sunday, February 28th, 2021. She reunited with her husband in heaven peacefully. She joined the love of her life with services on March 10th, 2021, on what would have been their 75th anniversary, to dance together on God's dance floor. Dancing together was a love they shared as great as their own.
She was born in Brownsville, Texas, and moved to Corpus Christi in 1956.
She preceded in the passing of her husband Manuel L. Peña and her daughter Elvia P. Garza. She has survived by her daughters and her son Otilia (Juan) Barraza, Dahlia (Rolando) Avalos, Patricia (Pat) Pena-Noyola, and Manuel P. Pena, her Grandchildren, and her Great Grandchildren.
Her greatest pride and joy were within the family. She found renewed purpose, with the birth of her granddaughter Victoria Peña, years after the loss of her husband.
The most sincere gratitude to Sandra, who was a provider for her for many years. Not only did she care and nourish, but Sandra was welcomed like a daughter, and her kindness and great compassion will never be forgotten. Simona truly embraced the wondrous time she gifted in this world with the beloved people who were there by her side.
Services to be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 beginning with a Rosary at 9:30 am, Mass at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., Corpus Christi, TX. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
